An easy recipe to make your own natural anti mozzies
Most insect repellents are toxic, especially the ones containing DEET and smell terrible. Here is a natural, efficient and pleasant alternative and the two essential oils I have used are beautiful and versatile and will find their place in every room at home.
Purification® is one of Young Living well loved blend that contains Citronella, Lemongrass, Rosemary, Melaleuca, Lavendin and Myrtle that can be used topically (bug bites, cuts, wounds, blisters, skin blemishes, cuts and sores, deodorant), diffused as a natural air freshener and purifier (very effective in clearing cigarette smell and disagreeable odors, cleanse the air from airborne pathogens, neutralize mold…), inhaled directly (great protection in planes or in hospitals!) and at home can freshen laundry (add few drops in the wash and dryer), freshen smelly shoes,
Like with most essential oils there is always a risk of possible skin sensitivity. If pregnant or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. With Purification, dilution is not required but as it is a hot oil, you may want to dilute with Young Living V6 Vegetable Oil or some coconut oil when using it topically on young children.
Cedarwood is one of my favorite essential oils. I love its warm, woodsy aroma that creates a comforting, uplifting experience. It can be used aromatically and topically. Few drops of Young Living Cedarwood essential oil can enhance your favorite beauty products for its ability to smooth the look of skin and shine hair.
Make Your Own Natural anti mozzies 
- 2 oz witch hazel
- 4 oz dark-colored glass spray bottle
- 2 oz distilled water
- 25 drops of Purification oil
- 15 drops of Cedarwood oil
Directions
- Buy a dark-colored glass spray bottle and add your drops of essential oils.
- Add your witch hazel and your distilled water.
You may use fractionated coconut oil instead of water if you need stronger coverage.
For most suburban living, the distilled water version works just fine. - Close the bottle with the spray and shake bottle well. Spray generously before going outside.
