Can we give and receive a full Reiki treatment to someone far away?
Reiki has no limitations of space or time. You can receive its benefits from the comfort of your own place wherever you are in the world. Distant treatment allows practitioners to perform a complete treatment and sense the energy of the recipient in the same way that in person.
It is interesting to note that practitioners, including myself, report to experience sometimes a more powerful connection as they are not disturbed by any movements, sounds or scents coming from their client. Like any Reiki treatment a Distant session brings a deep level a relaxation. It helps clearing blockages and reestablishing a good flow of energy. It supports any issues from overcoming negative experiences to easing pain, anxiety, grief and depression, facilitate physical healing, raises the vibration frequency of the body, promotes personal growth and much more…
The system of Reiki gives us four different symbols that are powerful keys allowing us to access different layers of the energy field. Students are given these symbols by a Reiki Master while studying. Each attunement or initiation allows the receiver to fully access the power of these symbols.
As a level 2 Reiki student you receive the Distant Healing symbol (Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen) that breaks the illusion of separation and reminds us that we are all connected even when far apart.
When performing a Distance session, some practitioners like to work with the recipient’s photo or name written on a piece of paper. Personally I don’t use anything. Like for a in-person treatment, I allow time for a phone or online consultation with my client, and then I ask him or her to lay down. Once we are both ready for the session, I open sacred space and use my symbols and the power of my intentions to feel and access the energy of my client. I give the treatment exactly as if my client was laying on my massage table.
Adding the experience of the sound
When it is possible, some of my clients love keeping their computer or phone switched on to be able to listen to my voice. They enjoy listening to the kotodama (mantra of each symbol) and to my singing. I am immensely grateful to have been gifted the ability to channel the light language and different languages, sounds and messages through my voice.
The sensations and effects of the treatment for the receiver are similar to in-person treatments. Some feel and immediate wave of relaxation and fall asleep, others have shared that they could feel the energy moving through them and were floating immersed in different colours.
