A Five Minute Healthy and Full of Goodness Cacao Mousse 

You have guests coming and no time for dessert? This Cacao Avocado Mousse (Vegan, GF) will do the trick and even more as it’s made with ingredients that supports health. We know that avocados contain healthy fats and that cacao (not cocoa) is rich in antioxidants, flavonoids and minerals (Iron, Phosphorus, Manganese, Magnesium, Iron, Phosphorus, Manganese, Magnesium.

The Olmecs, Mayans and Aztec revered cacao. Their written history mentions Cacao Avocado Moussecacao being used in celebrations. Aztecs believed cacao was a gift from their god Quetzalcoatl, Around 1528, cacao was discovered by the first European explorers and became popular amongst the royal court in Spain, France and Italy. The drink was used as a medicine, an energy boost and for its aphrodisiac effects. Cacao is known to help lower inflammation, boost mood, support heart and brain health amongst many other things. If you had the opportunity to drink Ceremonial Cacao you were able to enjoy Cacao’s medicine.

Most people don’t guess that the mousse is made with avocado and everyone loves it!  You can serve it with fresh blueberries or raspberries, add cacao nibs or some shredded coconut on the top. The limit is your imagination.

Cacao Avocado Mousse Recipe

Ingredients (choose organic)

  • 2 ripe avocados  depending size (around 240g)
  • 3 to 4 tbsp cacao powder
  • ¼ cup almond, or coconut milk (or milk alternative). Adjust depending on desired consistency
  • ¼ cup maple syrup, or more or less to taste, you can replace by Agave syrup 
  • A pinch of salt
  • A drop of Young Living Orange essential oil, Mint or Lavender are also fabulous

Cacao Avocado Mousse

Method:
  • Place the avocados flesh in your food processor.
  • Add all other ingredients and blend until smooth.
  • Adjust cacao, mapple syrup and plant based milk to your taste
  • Place in nice glasses or small bowls
