A New Recipe Worth Trying! 

This raw cashew cream spread not only looks amazing but it is keeping us and our guests raving. Of course you can use the base of the recipe and add different flavours if you wish. Cooking is about experimenting and having fun! We all know that turmeric on top of its golden hue is amazing. Turmeric is a spice that comes from the root of the Curcuma Longa plant, which is a perennial in the ginger family. Turmeric’s health benefits lies in curcumin antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.

Cashews are native to Central and South America,. They are a modest source of protein, healthy fats, and antioxidants such as polyphenols, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc, vitamin B6 and K. They and offer a variety great health benefits.

This dairy-free, vegan and raw “cheese” can be used as a dip, a spread on toast or you can even stirred it into a pasta dish! It is easy to make and can be kept in the fridge up to 4 days. For a smooth version, it’s better to use a high-speed blender.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw activated cashews (soaked overnight in filtered water and rinsed)
  • 1Tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1tsp apple cider vinegar
  • lemon or lime juice to taste 1 use 1/2 lemon
  • sea salt
  • Dulse flakes
  • 1 Tbs Hemp seeds
  • 1 TbspTurmeric juice
  • 1 or 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 drop Lemon and Black Pepper Young Living essential oils
  • 1 Jalapeno or  some chilli if you want to add some heat!

Method

If you have a high speed blender like Vitamix, place first all the liquids. Then add cashews and all the other ingredients. Blend until smooth on high-speed for 3 to 4 minutes. You might have to add a bit of filtered water if consistency is too dry.
